Saints Firsts Dominate Radcliffe with 6-2 Victory

In a thrilling encounter, the Saints Firsts secured a convincing 6-2 win against Radcliffe. Despite a shaky start that saw Radcliffe take an early 2-0 lead, the team rallied and displayed their attacking prowess to secure a dominant victory.

The first 45 was a tale of two halves. Radcliffe capitalised on defensive errors to take the lead, but a well-placed header from J. Beal from a Simpson throw in created a spark for the team. A couple of minutes later a great delivery from A. Simpson landed on M. Lonergan’s head who cleverly steered it into the back of the net, taking us into half time level without playing our best.

The second half saw a complete turnaround as the Saints took control of the game. S. Keown was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick.

For his first Keown latched onto a through ball from J. Beal and finished clinically. Our number nine then got his second from another teasing Simpson delivery as he nodded home with us firmly in charge.

Great battling from H. Hoyle led to him picking the ball up on the edge of the area before striking home his first of the season in what was a good display from the young lad.

To top things off Keown got his hat trick, and made it perfect with a right footed finish low into the corner.

This result extends the Saints' winning streak and sets them up for a challenging period ahead as they face a series of tough fixtures against top teams.
